Chak De India

Pic courtesy:Nytimes post

This is a must watch movie, Shahrukh Khan has played an entirely different role...and has really delivered a good performance. You might have probably read a hazaar(thousands) reviews abut this movie already, so am not going to write more but will briefly state some moments i enjoyed ....just recommending that its a must watch. Vidya Malavade playing the goalie Vidya Sharma, Shilpa Shukhla playing Bindiya Naik, Gunjan, Komal, Soimoi, Netra, Balbir......gosh..the gals all have done an extremely good job. The introduction of the team is entirely different and they have introduced the element of comedy in there, which probably makes it even more enjoyable. A lot of issues have been dealt with. When Kabir Khan's friend says "Ek galthi tho sab ko maaf hai" and Shahrukh says..."Sabko nahi"...I felt that really was a very good dialogue in the movie. The last scene where his knees go weak with joy...and the expression on his face...tooo goood!! I am a Shahrukh fan, and it really wont convince you if I go all gaga over his acting in this flick, but yes he has done a good job (I believe am saying that for the second time in this post)Music by Salim Sulaiman does justice to the tempo of the movie. Camera is obviously good, the hockey field/turf is shown really well when the game is being played.
Just like Ab tak Chhappan, this movie has delivered. Shimit Amin..you rock...This is one director to watch out for.

Cheeni kam

Really amazing performance from two of the best stars and the movie lives up big time to its expectations.

Big B rocks with his performance as this stickler for perfection and Tabu dazzles you with her usual charm. Its a win win combo, these two. A really funny movie with some subtle comedy. A must watch.

DON-The chase begins again

Sitting in the last row, the middle seat(best place to be to watch a movie and well if its Shahrukh on screen in DON, there's nothing more needed. I watched the movie wide eyed and agape like a small kid having a fascination for something. ). Shahrukh is just awesome. Been long since I saw SRK in all his glamor, class, style et all after Main Hoon Naa. I remember driving to watch Kaal with my friends just because SRK was doing the one dance. It was worth it. Have always been an ardent SRK fan and he has done justice to the role yet again. He is so sexy and stylish in the movie and felt so good watching SRK in full form. I watched the movie hearing mixed reviews that it was good, sheer waste of time, not like BIG B , etc., but all said and done am always an SRK fan, no matter what and he is simply superb in DON.

Farhan Akhtar has done a good job with the direction and the cameraman is WOW!! the scene where Arjun Rampal walks with his son over the Petronas connecting bridge...Two Thumbs up! really nice shot and the editing is great too! also like the part where Boman Irani opens his briefcase and they show three different angled shots in one scene...The story is with its usual twists and turns and keeps you guessing. I watched the DON of BIG B a long time back and completely forgot all about the movie so I believe I enjoyed this movie better!

They have dressed up SRK as himself and not tried too hard to make him look like Amitabh! That brings out the director's touch in the movie. The graphics by red chillies(I believe SRK and Juhi own it!) is pretty decent. Priyanka Chopra and Isha Koppikar have done a good job. I did not like Kareena doing the helen item no. "Yeh Mera Dil" .Don't know why it turned me off! The intro song of the Vijay character is foot tapping once again Shankar,Ehsaan,Loy have proved themselves. Alisha has sung "Aaj Ki Raat" wonderfully well.

The typical Don dialogues adorn the movie.

Big B is always the Don of the 70's no doubt about that but now its SRK!!!

pssttt: Thanks to wikipedia for the movie photo!

Krrish!

I had been to watch the movie last week. Hrithik's dancing is as usual
too good. Priyanka Chopra looks really ravishing. The graphics in the movie are ok
but the storyline is too much. If it had a stronger storyline with some real punch to it
there is no doubt the movie would have done better. But am guessing the movie is already a big hit!
Rekha as Dadima has portrayed her role well.
It is of course considered part 2 of Koi Mil gaya and am sure they would go on
making another sequel to it.The music is ok.
Naseeruddin Shah has given a good performance, the way he reads headline news is too funny!
He always does justice to his role, there is no doubt about that. But then again they waste his talents!
With the man of steel returning to the theatres, this movie makes you wonder a lot.

Just Imagine!

DaVinci Code

Thrills,Meticulous attention to detail and well taken.
I read and saw reviews saying that the movie DaVinci Code was not that good. I finally managed to get a ticket for the first day show of the movie and its taken really well.
Ron Howard a brilliant movie maker has once again created magic on the screen. The movie was sold out in most theatres. The hype given to the movie and then the movie itself just awesome.
Tom Hanks(i know am being partial here, but well am a tom hanks fan) has done a wonderful job except for the weird hair do of his. wats with that??

The heroine of the movie I didnt quite catch her name it was Audrey somehting...has done a good job too and they finally nail her to be the holy grail. Jean Reno is always the French Policeman (remember the French Kiss) and is always a nice cop bound to his duties. Looks like Paul Bettany is a keeper for Ron Howard he has also starred in A Beautiful Mind earlier. He has done a really good job, that you start hating the character first and then start pitying it.

The whole concept of the story sparks debates. But the movie was very well made.
I am sure many people would beg to differ and call the movie a total waste of time. Well its their opinion not mine.
