Aahat

"Bhari mehfil mein bhi tumhaari aahat sun lethi hoon,
Saanson mein ab tak hai tumhaari mehek,
Khayaalon mein tumhaare uljhe,Yaadon mein tumhaare,
dil hai zara si behek"

live it up!

Look ahead, don’t look back
Don’t dwell too much in the past.
Live it up as life’s too short,
It will pass you by, real fast.

If only part 6

well, if you are here you need to read these first.

Viv was taken aback when he saw Aditi walking towards him.

“What on earth are you doing here?” he asked her, as he gave her a big bear hug. “Gosh it’s been ages!” she could see the genuine joy in his face.

“Well, I am here with Gaurav. He is here on business and I just flew in yesterday and DJ told me you would be here today at this time. I was worried that I might not find you; c’mon this place is like a big maze. But I figured you’d be here!” she winked at him. “Ok, I walked around a bit and finally found you here. There…you got me!” she threw her hands up in fake exasperation.

“That’s really wonderful AD. Let’s go get some dinner if you don’t have plans already and catch up” he wondered and they started walking back.

************************************************************************************
Roshni was not happy at all. She thought she had gotten over him, “It’s been six years!! GET A LIFE, Roshni”, she kept telling herself. As she walked into her house completely unaware that she was drenched and was dripping from head to toe. She was totally lost in thoughts as she dropped the keys on the counter and opened the fridge to get a drink. She just sat at the table trying to gather herself. She then realized that she was totally soaking wet, and went in to change.

This was so unlike her. She always thought she would never lose it. But that day had to come as well. As she rummaged through her closet to find her comfy PJs ,a shoe box fell out of the top shelf.

“Freaking hell” she screamed annoyingly. She did not want the whole thing tumbling down. “I don’t have time for this drama”, she muttered as she picked up the box and checked to make sure nothing else was falling down. Some of the stuff from the box had scattered on the floor and as she picked them up she realized they were photos from times beyond. She was sure she had tossed them out, “how did they get back here?” She cleaned up the mess and put it back in the closet and plopped on her bed. She turned the TV on to see if she could be distracted from her thoughts. They were playing “When Harry Met Sally” and it didn’t help her cause.

Her mind kept going back to the box. She gave up and brought the box down. She found old pictures from high school, from college, trinkets and trifles…all filled with his scent and memories. She was holding her favorite picture of Viv, shot at the beach in Mangalore as he was walking towards her to grab his camera. He had a wicked smile on his face and he just looked his best.

She did not want to do this, but she figured it was time to face the monsters. She had been fighting this too long. After they broke up she took back all pictures of them together, her pictures, his pictures and all the gifts they had exchanged. She said she was going to burn them or shred them to pieces.

“I don’t want any memory of yours haunting me”, she remembered the words she had screamed at Viv. It still made sense and she was wondering why she sitting here today looking at all the things again! It was like someone had hit the rewind button in her life.

She pulled out a little red gift box from inside and opened it. In it was a beautiful shell pendant. He had picked that out for her from the beach and had actually taken the time to paint her name on it. It sounded so corny, just thinking about it now. “Geez! What was wrong with me?” she wondered as she looked into the box for more stuff that would make her look even more stupid. She was laughing out loud when she read one of the greeting cards.

“How did this all make so much sense back then?” she wondered when the phone rang, which made her jump.

Look ahead

You sweat, rant and fret for no reason
It's funny how things then just work out
When things take a turn for the worst
Know that, life turns around, without a doubt!

If only Chapter 5

Alright, am back with If only. Read on. Will try to post more often now.

Chapter 5

Suraj was happy to bump into DJ. They grabbed a coffee and sat down to talk.

“I guess this time it is a sure shot. It is gonna work”, DJ sounded very excited.

“Boy! Look at you gloating. You never give up do you?” Suraj wondered as DJ raised his hands for a high five. “I know Roshni better than anyone”, Suraj continued ignoring the big grin on DJ’s face. “She is one stubborn moron. Puts her heart over her head and it is difficult to see things clearly when your emotions blind you. Believe me, she is one tough nut to crack”

“Nope, am not saying its gonna be easy Suraj, but this is our best shot ever. I know what you are talking about and we are not playing any mind games with her. It is clearly a matter of the heart and sparks would fly when they meet up”

“She hasn’t spoken to him in six years; do you think she is going to change with just one glance? Knowing her I really doubt that” Suraj sounded worried as he said this.

“I have a good plan here. So far they have been conversing on the phone, always rude to each other”

“She is rude, he is always the nice guy”, Suraj interrupted.

“So much for backing up your sister dude! Anyway, those were terrible. I met Viv the other day and tried to call her and it was yet another fiasco. This time it is gonna work, since they are going to be seeing so much of each other “ DJ chuckled.

“Those two blokes are not worth the effort, but I love them too much. This time it better work, if not count me out from your sucker plans” Suraj commented and they chatted away, their voices drowning with the chatter at Grand Central.

*************************************************************

It was getting dark and Vividh wrapped his little getaway at Central park and started strolling back. He was still thinking about Roshni, when he heared someone call out his name.

*************************************************************

Roshni was really struggling hard not to think about Vividh Patil and it was getting to her. AD had called her several times during the day and she did not bother to answer. She was sure they would have a conversation about the phone call and she was not ready for it yet. She was lost in thoughts as she drove back home. She saw signs for Nandi Hills and a whole storm of memories flooded her thoughts.

“Damn it Viv! I was getting along fine and you had to call me!” she yelled out loud.

A wish for the new year

This had been brewing since the holidays but I didn't get enough time (between work and clicking photographs..I have been neglecting my writing...this year I hope to work on that too) to work on it and get it all done. It's actually been a while since I sat down to write something. As they say "It's better late than never" here goes a wish for this year.

It’s that season of magic
When you hear the sleigh bells ring
It’s that season of joy
Which makes every heart sing

It’s that time of the year
When the ambience is all festive
It’s that season of love
When all you do is give

Just close your eyes
And join in the fun
Have a good time,
It’s only just begun

Filled with all wonders and miracles
Let the joy spread
Toast yourself to a new life,
To the new year ahead

something nice, something new

Wrote these on the fly, yesterday. Liked them, so thought would post them here.

chedi jo tumne baat, chup na rah sake hum
pata nahi kyon saamne jab tum raho kuch na kah sake hum

ek pal mein apnaa banaaya, ek hi pal mein parayaa
kaisi yeh teri dillagi, main kabhi samaj na payaa

Happy Ugadi everyone

May this New Year…
Shower success upon you
Make all your dreams come true

May this New Year…
Have pleasant surprises in store
Leaving you asking for more

May this New Year…
Give you the fortitude to face life
In times of distress and strife

May this New Year…
Be filled with immense mirth
Entangle you in love’s girth

A new beginning, a new year
Wishes galore from near and dear
Reminiscing the days of the year that’s past
Creating memories meant to last.

Happy Ugadi everyone!!

Turbulent serenity

Faraway from the concurring squabbles;
From the leisurely drudgery;
Where complementary contraries coexist;
Where bitterness and blithe try hard to cobble;

Faraway from all the serious spontaneity;
From the lucid obscurities;
Where there are authentic infidelities;
Where we still dream into reality;

Faraway from the mundane exceptionalities;
From the tranquil rackets;
Where we have ubiquitous scarcities;
Where there are peaceful hostilities;

At this place unknown
I indulge myself in this sweet surrender
Giving up on everything
Where I can call my soul ,my own

So far, yet so close to the irony called LIFE!

Love is in the air!

I was scrapping shaan and saw the hearts pic in his profile and now almost everyone i know is committed, so love is in the air....and also got reminded that I need to change my blog to rain hearts instead of snow! Its Valentine's day! Well I just decided to write something about love, and so here goes To all you people in love...now dont go about reading between the lines and read too much of it. Just a penny for your thoughts!

Love is in the air!
Its painted red everywhere
Flowers and cupid darts!
Diamonds melting hearts

A smile that brightens a face
Bringing joy in million ways
Defying all surmises
The well kept secrets and surprises

The serene moonlight beach walks
Hand in hand, those romantic talks
The candlelight dinners, the violins playing
Tapping the feet and gently swaying

Holding you tight and gazing at the stars
Dreaming about that future of ours
Those solemn promises made
All those unheard serenades

Now makes every heart sing
And am flying without wings
Indeed,love is in the air!
Its painted red everywhere

Happy Valentine's Day Everybody!

Winter Wonderland

Came up with a poem so I figured I would post it anyways!!

I wake up to a snowy morning
Blue and sunny skies
and the soft snowfall
Lead me to paradise

Snowball fights and snow men everywhere
Warm hot cocoa when I get inside
Winter wonderland indeed it is
Where all the fun resides

Sitting by the warmth of the fireplace
Gently as the winds blow
Looking out the window, I say
"Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!!"

Some crazy poem

L, a friend of mine who lives in the kingdom of France and considers himself prince charming :P gave me five words to work with to make a poem

Big, fig,dig,gig,pig...

So here goes nothing

Chewing on a big
Juicy bar of Fig
I stand in line as I dig
To watch the best gig
By none other than Pig!

Now am done...

Leaf Peeping in the woods

I had recently been to the white mountains,New Hampshire and was inspired to write this.

Leaf Peeping in the woods!

The chirpy birds woke me up,
At the very break of dawn
Away from the warmth of my bed
Long before the moon's all gone.

I set out on the long, winding road
To catch a glimpse of paradise
Don't know why but...nature in all her beauty
Always has me enticed.

At a distance,I can see
The mountains towering high,
I drive on-its a cold day
With the sun out and a clear sky

A stop by the lake
So colorful,so serene
The foliage in the water,
Something new,something unseen

The long drive in the hills
Leading to paths unknown
In the whispering woods
A place I wish I can call my own

Somewhere lost in the gorgeous colors
I can hear the embellished gurgling stream
white pebbles et all-Craving for attention
Merely letting out a scream.

The leaves tinted with gold,
The ground spewing shades of red
The orange leaves still hanging on
All the trees just waiting to shed

Painted with the various
vibrant shades of fabulous fall
I went leaf peeping in the woods
Amidst the canopy of trees so tall

The sunset across the horizon
Matching the various shades of autumn
The sky looks riled up
Tinted all orange and crimson

I drive back on a deserted road
Away from the mixed sound and shade
Slowly as the leaves fall
The memories too will fade.

forever in my thoughts
This poem features in my third novel, the one am currently working on...
For different reasons, we might have parted ways
But my love, I still miss those good old days.
I might not have been
That close friend you always wanted me to be.
Yet there is still one thing that you must believe,
You are that someone special for me as long as I live.

Hand in hand, we walked beside each other,
Promising to be, forever, together.
But I guess down the road somewhere,
I lost hold of you and now I am no where.

I know I never bothered to bid goodbye
Never ever put a call through to say a “Hi”
Never wished you on your birthday.
Though I had a lot to say.
Turned my face when somewhere I met you,
Though I always wished you were near me when things were blue.
Never ever mailed or wrote
Though I had a lot to quote.
I know to you, these little things mean a lot
Now my only hope is that you forget-me-not.
I so badly wanted to stay in touch.
Yet I don’t know why I just couldn’t do too much.

My love, please forgive me
For all the pain that I might have given
I just wish you knew
Though words I have are few
I just cannot make it anymore without you.

So please take my hand again
Share with me all the happiness and pain.
But remember never ever to let go
Even if I tell you so!!
I am sorry my loveI really am
So let’s bury the bitterness of the past
Just make us “Forever last”
So let’s start a fresh chapter
And be together here after.

Yes I would still know

Read this part 1:
part 2:

With all the woe,
As the journey unfolds,
Where to go, yes I would know
It is not easy for me
To just let go

When I am in dire straits
I have learnt to stay calm
To gather my bearings
And bravely tame the raging storm

Life has taught me that
Victory does not pursue tears
I have learnt to stand up
And face my worst fears

When things go wrong
I don’t cower in shame
I have learnt to fight,
To get back in the game

On the crossroads of life
When I find myself alone
In me, I have learnt to believe
And undauntedly explore the unknown

I have learnt it the hard way
That it is not easy to let go
As the journey unfolds
Where to head, yes, I would know!
