Been a while since I had been on the photo hunt and flowers are my favorite subjects. This time around they didnt behave. It was really windy and cold by the Potomac in DC. The cherry blossoms were "gone with the wind" but the withered petals kept circling around you creating a very magical atmosphere. It was just gal's day out and we had fun.
The cherry blossom festival has been happening for quite sometime now and its kinda one of the biggest gala events in DC. It is the 95th year and there is a lot of history behind it. If only it had been a little warmer would have been perfect. Read this official website link to find out more if you are interested.
A quick stop by the memorials and the metro rides to the white house and the capitol building. The walking and running on the streets of downtown on this cold and windy day...it all ended with a grand finale, the fireworks by the waterfront. I ran out of charge on my batteries so cudnt click those. The 15 minutes of fireworks and the call to find Jeffrey(a boy who kinda got lost and his parents looking for him) All in all the thirst for photography lives on.
