Maine Mania...Magic and Maya...

I am just lost for words to describe all the beauty I got to imbibe
over the last weekend in Magical Maine. Aptly termed as "Vacation Land", this place
has a plethora of things on the palette. You name it, they have it! Click on the picture for more Maine maya!

The weekend get away started off a little spooky as the late night drive
landed us in a lot of fog and yes it was a scene from a typical horror movie...a chill down the
spine..naan..am exaggerating i guess! we could only see the headlights of our car flashing
an inch ahead. the side windows were all engulfed in a hazy maze. it was a dangerous drive
wish we had exchanged some horror stories then, it was way too kewl and we screamed our way
through the darkness and when we finally squinted our way to Maine, we stepped out
only to freeze. It was a freaking -2 deg Celsius outside. Crashed on the sleeping bags
only to wake up to a gorgeous fall day...the sun was out..the skies so lucid...perfect!
There was one trained model, one professional photographer..aka cameraman!,one a bit scared and not
interested to pose for photos alone and one who was trying hard to get good photos..thus there were four of us! Oops! I forgot to mention Tigger,Twinkle and Michael(They go wherever the car goes.. a tiger,a pink baby and a bear(christened by my niece recently))
The four lunatics set out and there were many firsts for me in Maine. For starters,
we just pulled over into an apple orchard and had fun picking few apples(most of which are still adorning
my trunk! may their soul rest in peace...am still in the process of making an apple pie!) after a lot
of yes and no's we finally headed north to Moosehead lake. I would rate it.."the Place" in Maine.
it was so beautiful. Took an airplane ride(more a seaplane) to chek out the fall colors
and clicked away! got lucky with some shots I would say. Fall was gorgeous from up above the puffy clouds.
No wonder New England is the best place to be to enjoy the fall colors. I agree...hands down!
I am glad i took the plane ride.

Spent the day driving up and pulling over the side of the road to gape at the woods.
The woods were painted with the scintillating shades of fall and i was struggling
in every possible way to capture them in my camera. Another thing I saw for the first time was a Moose...
They didnt look anything like what I imagined them to be...they were huge alright...but
the antlers weren't big..there were just like a cow's horn..but we spotted a whole family of moose
the dad,mum and baby..it was just great. Was dark already and drove back home after dinner.

Day 2 was just as perfect as the day before. We headed to Bar Harbor in Maine and on the way took the
Schoodic scenic byway...Maine boasts of 4 scenic byways (i believe there are some 60 odd scenic byways in the US)
Saw a jellyfish(another first) in the backwaters and man it was not as cute as it was in Nemo! but still good enuf to take pics.
Some of my friends ate lobsters..now saw lobsters for the first time too..then the trip had to end like all good things
Drove back leaving behind the beautiful colors of fall only to get back to the dull, mundane routine called work! But fall is
gonna be in my place pretty soon..so another trip to catch a glimpse of the ever so beautiful colors of fall. All said and done
one cannot capture all of nature's beauty just with a camera..I still have wonderful memories to treasure for life! A lot of
places to explore and the journey continues...

A beautiful description of a mindblowingly beautiful place. Too drunk in the rich colors of the fall and blue of the lake to compliment any more.
Cheers!
